Chapter 22: Are you going home?
Huo Shiqian didn't mention where to meet up, he simply had Song Li send the ticket information to Wenshuo. Jiang Yu, on the other hand, didn't dare reach for a mile after she was given an inch.
The next day, she was the first to board the plane. After waiting for a while, she saw Huo Shiqian passing by and sitting down in the row upfront. Jiang Yu pulled Song Li's sleeve as he was following him. She pointed at herself, and then at the seat next to Huo Shiqian. Song Li instantly understood her meaning and nodded, then he took a step back.
She immediately stood up and sat next to Huo Shiqian. Song Li said greeted Wenshuo then sat in her original seat. Wenshuo, on the other hand, was a little confused watching their series of actions.
As soon as Jiang Yu sat down, Huo Shiqian glanced at her sideways but quickly turned away without saying anything. Then, he started reading the magazine he held in his hand.
With her phone in her hand, she first turned on the Airplane mode, then started tapping around on the screen with her fingers. She wanted to say something to him and fell into a daze thinking about how to go on about it. She didn't come back to her senses until the plane took off.
Turning her head to look out of the window, his profile came into view, glowing under a bright layer of light, appearing more and more elegant and serene. She could clearly see his relaxed black-ink eyebrows, long eyelashes, sharp nose, and pale thin lips.
Jiang Yu stretched out her finger and poked his arm: "I want to take some pictures."
Hearing that, Huo Shiqian put down the magazine that was blocking her view a little. She held the phone facing out the window, then moved it a few times to adjust the angle. The whole thing didn't take long, and she quickly put the phone away, "It's done."
Flying back to city B from S city did not cover that much distance, it took only two hours. In such a silent atmosphere, Jiang Yu couldn't help falling asleep.
Ten minutes later, Huo Shiqian turned his head to look at Jiang Yu who had leaned her head on his shoulder. The sight left a touch of helplessness in his eyes.
When she was asleep, she was less ostentatious. Her upper body was entirely tilted, and her long hair blocked half of her face. A few strands of black hair fell on the red lips, against her porcelain-white skin, it appeared quiet which made him inexplicably... hooked.
He turned his head and looked out the window, letting her lean against him. His eyes showed some doubts, but they gradually faded, letting his usual distant gaze take over.
When Jiang Yu woke up, her mind was still dazed, it took some time before she realized she was leaning against Huo Shiqian. She stiffly sat upright, turned to look at him, then sighed softly in relief.
Fortunately...he fell asleep too...
But seeing Huo Shiqian asleep, she began to worry again. Did he fall asleep before she leaned on him? Or was it afterward?
But her struggle did not last long. They were about to land and Huo Shiqian woke up.
"That..." Jiang Yu pointed at him: "Uh...you...Are you going home?"
She almost bit her tongue as soon as the words left her mouth. Why did that sound so strange?
"I'm going back to the company." Huo Shiqian didn't seem to think much and plainly replied.
"Oh ......" she was a little disappointed, but they had an early flight and it was only noon, so it was normal to go back to work.
"Um...Thank you for buying my ticket. Could I invite you for lunch?"
"no need."
"Oh……"
After the plane landed, Jiang Yu stood up and walked out slowly, with Huo Shiqian following her.
"Jiang Yu?" A male voice rang behind them.
When she turned around, she saw that the man had walked up to her: "Xie Zheng?"
With surprise in his eyes, Mr. Zheng reached out and pulled her closer, "It's really you? Have you returned home?"
